Galveston Arts Center Presents Galveston ArtWalk tonight!

The popular Galveston ArtWalk is being presented once again tonight by the Galveston Arts Center.  Held mostly in historic downtown Galveston, the following galleries will have new exhibit openings:

Bogan Gallery - 2217 Postoffice

The Bud Clayton Studio - 518 23rd Street

Buchanan Gallery - 220 25th Street

DesignWorks Gallery - 2119A Postoffice

Galveston Art League Gallery - 2117A Postoffice

Galveston Arts Center - 2501 Market Street

J. Bangle’s Silk Sticking Gallery – 1124 25th Street

Wagner Sousa Modern Art - 404 25th Street

The Water’s Edge - 1302 21st Street

Rene Wiley Studio and Gallery - 2128 Postoffice

In addition, artwork will be exhibited at Bacchus Wine Bar, Hutching-Sealy Building Artist’s Lofts, Island Divers, the Mosquito Cafe, Nada, Deborah’s Garden, and the Front Parlor.

The best part is that this great entertainment is free. The weather is nice, so there should be a great crowd of Galvestonians, Houstonians, and other visitors out and about.

Moody Gardens Summer Concert Series

Moody Gardens has announced their summer concert series, “Bands on the Sand.”  to be held at Palm Beach at Moody Gardens from 6 pm until 10 pm, the tickets are only $6.00 each and includes the fireworks show afterwards.

The schedule is as follows:

June 18 – Hamilton Loomis

June 25 – Mambo Jazz Kings

July 2 – Ezra Charles and Texas Blues Band

July 9 – Radio London

July 16 - Vertigo

July 23 – D.R.U.M.

July 30 – James Reese Band

Galveston Arts Center Presents Galveston Artwalk

It’s time again for Galveston Artwalk! Presented by the Galveston Arts Center in historic downtown Galveston, the event is tonight with galleries open generally from 6 pm until 9 pm.

Then it’s time for dinner at one of Galveston’s great restaurants.

Great time always.  Should be a big crowd since it is Memorial Day weekend.

GHF’s Historic Homes Tour Next Two Weekends

The Galveston Historical Foundation (GHF) presents its annual Historic Homes Tour the next two weekends.  Beginning with the First Impression Preview Evening Tour tis Friday evening. the two weekends also include lunches, a Mother’s Day Brunch, an exhibit of art by noted architect Eugene Aubry, a bike tour, and so much more.
