A notable event in Galveston real estate is the opening of Coastal Living magazine’s 2008 Idea House in Beachtown on Galveston’s East Beach.
Originally scheduled to open for tours last October, Hurricane Ike caused the opening to be delayed until last month. The 2008 Idea House was featured in Coastal Living’s October 2008 issue.
I was given a tour of the home last summer about a month or so before it was scheduled for completion, and I could tell then although unfinished and unfurnished how grand the home was going to be. I toured the home just last Saturday and was very pleased to see how much the home actually exceeded my expectations. I was also very pleased to see the large number of people who turned out to see the home.
I heartily recommend that you take the time to tour the 2008 Idea House. You will get many ideas for space planning and decoration. The home is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through June, and the hours are from 10:30 am until 4:00 pm. The price is $10 per person, and all proceeds benefit the programs of the Galveston Historical Foundation, a leader in the nationwide historic preservation movement.
If you should have interest in a home or lot in Beachtown, please feel free to contact us, and be certain to tell your friends and family.
