Kudos to the Galveston Arts Center for bringing back the Galveston ArtWalk today, April 18, a once every six weeks event in which local art galleries simultaneously open new exhibitions and the public can go from gallery to gallery visiting and meeting the artists, all for free.
Though right now a smaller event than before Hurricane Ike, this event had become a cherished Galveston tradition, and it is important for the city that it begin again.
Those galleries on tour include:
DesignWorks at 2119A Postoffice Street. 6-9 pm
Galveston Arts Center (exhibiting at Arts & Frames) at 1126 19th Street. 5-8 pm
The Water’s Edge Studio & Gallery at 1302 21st Street. 4-8 pm
J. Bangle’s Silk Stocking Gallery at 25th Street and Avenue L. 5-9 pm
Wagner Sousa Modern Art at 404 25th Street. 5-9 pm
The Galveston Arts Center is currently closed for building restoration and Ike recovery. If you would like to contribute, please click this link and give.
