Galveston Real Estate After Hurricane Ike – Evia

Galveston real estate after Hurricane Ike - Evia is Galveston’s newest development, and the last large development behind Galveston’s Seawall.  A community designed in the neo-urbanism style, all homes have front porches, garages off of alleys in the backs of the homes, and are in a Victorian, Colonial, or Crafstman revival style.  The homes range from townhomes to bungalows to homes with more than 4,000 square feet of space.

The amenities include the two lakes, a community pool, and the beginnings of a small commerical center chihc currently houses Sugar Bean, a combination coffee house and ice cream parlor,  space for retail, and apartments above.

This is a lovely and very pedestrian friendly community.

Because of the elevation of the homes, Ike floodwaters did not get into any of the homes.  Evia was recently cited by FEMA for best practices in mitigation.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Evia.
